DEFINITION

High arches are a natural form of the foot, but can cause considerable health issues due to the rigid nature of a high arch. People with high arches frequently suffer from arch pain (often referred to as arch strain), due to inflammation and/or burning sensation at the arch of the foot.

CAUSE

There are many different factors that can cause arch pain. A structural imbalance or an injury to the foot can often be the direct cause. Poor posture or changes to your walk from injury all cause excessive pressure on the bones of the foot, and a greatly reduced ability to absorb ground shock while walking.

TREATMENT AND PREVENTION

When the arch pain is related to a High arch, an orthotic designed with a medial heel post and proper arch support is recommended for treating the pain. The Balance Support range are all designed to control over-pronation, support the arch and provide the necessary relief. We recommend our High Arch combination as the solution to your problems.

If the problem persists, consult your foot doctor.
